Soody Tronson

 IP ADVISOR 

Soody is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience combining law, science, engineering, and business management in start-ups and established environments. She has helped countless clients – both domestic and international – with their intellectual property (IP) strategies and general growth strategies. 

Several years ago, she founded Soody Tronson Law Group (STLGIP), a boutique intellectual property law firm in the Silicon Valley, where she serves as Managing Partner. Soody instructs courses in IP and licensing at the University of California and is a mentor with several entrepreneurship-focused courses/programs at Stanford University. She is a speaker at legal forums and domestic and international events.

Prior to founding STLGIP, Soody practiced law as IP Counsel at Silicon Valley offices of Heller Ehrman as well as Townsend and Townsend and in-house at the Hewlett-Packard Company. She was General Counsel and Vice President of Intellectual Property at a successfully acquired medical device start up company where she was responsible for all legal matters.

Soody holds a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and an M.S. in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Central Florida from which she also completed a B.S. Postgraduate study was undertaken at Rutgers University. She is licensed to practice before the State of California and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
